The Official College of Psychology of Western Andalusia features an article published in the journal Apuntes de Psicología on the application of artificial intelligence to psychology, built around the idea of AI as a therapeutic copilot.

The article contrasts “automated therapists” with digital copilots that strengthen clinical judgment without replacing the professional relationship, covering a range of applications —from assessment to documentation— and presenting PsyPilot by Medea Mind as an example of this approach. It also addresses governance challenges and ethical dilemmas, proposing a framework in which technology supports clinical decisions. Its conclusion: the future of the profession will depend on acquiring new competencies and algorithmic literacy, rather than resisting technology.

The article is authored by Pablo Roca Morales, Martín Sánchez-Pedreño, Guillermo Rodríguez-Fernández, Eduardo P. García del Valle and Rosaria Maria Zangri (Villanueva University, Medea Mind and IE University).
