The General Council of Psychology features the NOVA project

Infocop, the official media of the General Council of Psychology of Spain, features the NOVA project in the article “Can precision mental health improve the outcomes of psychological treatments?”.

The piece frames precision mental health as an approach that personalizes psychological treatment through the continuous evaluation of patient progress and the use of data and artificial intelligence, starting from a figure that challenges the profession: almost half of patients do not achieve clinically significant improvements, and dropout rates range between 30% and 40%.

The article positions the NOVA (Navigating Outcomes via Analytics) project as an effort to bridge the gap between research and clinical practice, noting that only 14% of professionals routinely monitor their patients’ progress and that fewer than 1% of the predictive models developed in research reach real-world services. Throughout, clinical judgment remains the professional’s responsibility, supported by objective data that help detect stagnation or deterioration early.
